I cannot remember all of the fellas names, but would like to give each of them praise. Our family literally woke up to a waterfall in our granddaughter's bedroom earlier December 2011.
The roof on our 14 year old modular home was leaking and causing water to cascade into our home, from repeated build up and melting of ice dams.
We immediately called our insurance carrier PEMCO and reported this nightmare, we were referred to Larry Mac Donald of Yakima who in turn called Baxter Construction.
Baxter Construction sent Darren Smith, Joel Nateras, and Jacob Nunez to test for water saturation/damage throughout our home. They discovered that our two sky lights were also leaking. They explained their findings to Mike as they went through the house.
We discussed with Armando Gonzales what our best course of action would be. Armando suggested a complete roof replacement and also replace the old ugly outdated sky lights. He would contact PEMCO with the estimate. Armando is a wonderful spokesman for Baxter Construction, very understanding and loves doing what he can to help others in this world.
Within days Baxter's inside crew Victor and Gerardo were here and immediately went to work on the inside walls, I was very impressed with the prep work. I have never seen such dedicated professionals, they took care to cover all the floors (wood and carpet) with self sticking plastic and put up barriers in the bedroom with heaters, and moisture removing mammoth machines. They opened up the kitchen and our master bath ceiling near each sky light and removed all the wet ceiling and insulation to dry. Also as a long time "homemaker" I was very happy to discover after they left that I did NOT have to clean up after them (double WOW).
When they finished reinstalling the new dry wall in all three areas we could not see one single seam, absolute perfection, Victor kindly answered many questions from me and instructed me on how to prime and then repaint the bedroom, kitchen and bath ceiling and walls, Thanks to Victor, they are now great looking walls and ceilings and they get high praise from Mike and I. PS we tried to get Victor and Gerardo to come into the house to eat their lunch (it was freezing outside) they politely said no and ate in their vehicle.
Thank you also to the American Construction Service, our roof looks great and we feel that the house is warmer inside thanks to better quality of the roofing material. They found soft plywood on the south side of the roof and replaced as needed. Bryon assured us that the yard would be completely clean when they left and it was, we could not find a single nail/or staple anywhere in our yard (and we tried since we have pets). Bryon as we speak is improving a subpar roof connection between our modular and a garage we seem to have a leak between buildings and bless his heart he is working as it is snowing today (yesterday was clear and warm). Go figure.

My husband and I are writing to you to let you know how pleased we have been with the adjustment of our claim. To give you a little background on this claim, I must tell you a little about us. I came home from my last round of chemo and happened to look at the toilet in my bathroom. I noticed the toilet was elevated slightly and the floor around the base of the toilet was discolored. I told my husband about this and he immediately took the toilet out and noticed that not only had the seal leaked but the floor underneath had rotted. I then went downstairs to the bathroom in the basement which is directly beneath my toilet. It was absolutely terrible with orange mold on the ceiling and the walls warped from water. This all happened on a Friday; over the weekend we made the decision that my husband could not possibly complete this project on his own. At approximately 8:30 A.M. I telephoned Elliot Insurance and spoke with Jeannie. She then gave me the number for PEMCO in Seattle and they, in turn, gave me the number for Larry MacDonald here in Yakima. He couldn't have been more understanding or helpful. What a guy! Within 30 minutes Baxter Construction was here with five HEPA machines because of my delicate and fragile health condition.
Along with Larry MacDonald, Baxter Construction set to completely renovating our three bathrooms. We can't begin to tell you how blessed we were to have such fabulous workers in our home. They, quite literally, ran from one bathroom to the next and up and down the stairs to complete this horrific project for us in a timely fashion. Not only did Baxter Construction complete this claim in approximately three weeks, they came in far under budget! Because my immune system was so very compromised, I couldn't go out with them to choose materials, so they chose for me and brought samples. Very considerate! They were also able to save our cabinets in not only my bathroom, but also in the main bathroom. We were so grateful. We have since recommended both PEMCO and Baxter Construction to others based on our experience and there have been others who have not only switched to PEMCO Insurance, but have hired Baxter Construction because of their precise workmanship and honest and generous assessments.
Again, we feel compelled to write to you about Larry MacDonald, Elliot Insurance (PEMCO), and Baxter Construction as they all worked together to complete what could have been a disaster. How blessed we have been.

I am so pleased that we chose Baxter Construction to remodel our bathroom. From the time of biding the project to completion, I felt that your main goal was to do a superb job with which we were completely satisfied. That is what we got!
Brice, I appreciated that you were thorough in our initial meeting and wanted to make sure communication was important. You took all my questions with ease and I felt like I knew exactly what to expect throughout the entire process.
Mari, it is such a blessing to always hear a happy voice on the phone! Thank you for relaying messages, answering questions, and even helping choose grout color!
Julio, Joel, Jacob, and Joel- I cannot thank you enough for the excellent job you performed. You all were very professional, friendly, diligent, and consistently kept me up-to-date with how things were progressing. I especially appreciate how you all worked and talked with each other. It was easy to see that you maintain a great working relationship and respect one another. This was such a welcomed treat to witness!

I want to give sincere thanks to everyone who was involved with my parents' house. The professionalism that every person showed was amazing but more amazing than that was the personal side. My parents were treated with so much respect from everyone who worked there and that was even more appreciated than the excellent work that was done.
After the pipe burst and flooded their basement the concern that everyone from Baxter showed was very impressive. My father is 91 years old and my mother has Alzheimer's and I can't thank you all enough for the quick response, the professional work and the personal thought and care that went into every decision for their benefit.
Every person I met from Baxter when I would stop by to check on things would shake my hand and introduce himself. Everyone was polite and personable. That isn't something you see anywhere anymore and it isn't something that is usually expected in this industry at all. I felt I could trust every person who was in my parents' house from Baxter. I never had any concerns about the work or the people doing the work.
Julio was amazing. He took the time to call me and give me updates on the work that was being done. If there was a decision to be made that I couldn't make I just told him to use his best judgment and everything he did turned out beautifully. He took time to meet with me and my wife on our schedules to choose flooring, paint, cabinets and anything else needed.
Other than the original phone call we never once had to talk to the insurance company. You completed the work to your word and went above and beyond what any other place I have ever dealt with would have.
Again, thank you for everything. The amazing work, the amazing people and the care that was put into everything is greatly appreciated.

Having part of your roof blow off in a strong wind is a mighty frightening occurrence, especially when you know it's going to begin snowing at anytime and the likelihood of getting it repaired is slim. Not with Baxter Construction on the job. I feel so fortunate my insurance company recommended you. From the minute I met with Armando Gonzalez my fears were set aside and I felt good that all my problems were going to be taken care of. Not only was my roof temporarily covered within the same day, but from start to finish was only a matter of two weeks including a 4 day Thanksgiving holiday. Within a week after Thanksgiving, Byron's crew had the old shingles off and the tar paper attached, but the new shingles delivered and ready to be laid in place.
I was astounded how quickly the process was executed.
After the work was completed and my roof was done, it was brought to my attention the next day that considerable damage to the soffits from the roofing nails had occurred; protruding nails and paint chipping. I was somewhat distressed as I had just painted in the spring of 2009. But when I called Armando to advise him of my concerns, not only was he at my house within the hour to look it over, but he had Francisco out that same afternoon to begin repairing the damage. Not only did he cut off every protruding nail and caulk it but he had completed the painting within 24 to 30 hours of beginning the job, and it looks like brand new.
I can't begin to tell you how happy I am with my whole experience with Baxter Construction. Thank you so much.
P.S. I also wanted to mention how welcome and at ease Mari made me feel from the first call I made to your office.

Brice, I just wanted to share and brag on one of our employees. I went to the Fischer job this morning and from the moment that I arrived until the moment that I left both Mr. and Mrs. Fischer did nothing but praise Victor for his job on Thursday at their residence. Both of them stated numerous times just how Professional, Courteous and Polite that Victor was. They were both very impressed with his determination to get the rooms cleaner before he left than they were before he arrived. Mrs. Fischer said that she is a House Cleaner by profession and that she was expecting to have to clean up a little after Victor left but to her amazement she did not have to do a thing. It is nice knowing that we have employees like Victor representing us to our Customers and Clients.

The staff, in particular Armando, were friendly and seemed genuinely interested in providing us with the best service and making sure that our needs were met. What I appreciate most about Armando was his take charge attitude in dealing with the insurance company. We didn't talk to them once! Armando took care of it all. I met Darren through our BNI Group and was so relieved I knew him, I knew I liked Darren the first time I met him, what a genuine guy. When I talked with Darren on the phone after the fire I felt so relieved (I knew I was in good hands). He brought his crew out the very next day and got busy taking care of things.
